Today I received a notice of a market place review.

I don't keep up often with but decided to read . Realizing I had missed many from all year . It really made my day and brought big smile into my heart.
So thank you !

Especially after some days of farm work and pawpaw gathering 3 times a Day in this heat . Feeling weary .
I pray for those who don't get to step back in Ac and take A break .

I don't know that many marketplace even know of this page . Our sign at road was blown down my wind and we have had so much other work ,it's not gone back up .

I appreciate all those who have supported us. As we continue to go as God led.

Kentucky has lost one of its most enduring voices for the land.

Wendell Berry spent his life writing, farming and speaking about our relationship with the places we call home. A native Kentuckian, his words continue to remind us that enjoying the natural world also comes with a responsibility to care for it.

Today, we remember a Kentucky writer, farmer and conservationist whose work inspired generations to look a little closer at the land around us.

Rest in peace, Wendell Berry.

I don't sell these real small ones . But ever so often ,there are small ones that grow to this shape and remind me of the sacred Ipu heke drum . 💜 It feels so auspicious, as to the tropical taste of the pawpaw

My husband and I were watching a documentary on Hurricane Helene in Yancey co ,NC .

Then watching videos with yet another breaking heart in Nepal

Talking about the amount of debris to haul away.
But where do we haul

Landfills , Salvage recycling yards

Wether it's your home consumerism trash or a clean up somewhere .

This week we had ground broke on a small garage we have needed for a long time A odd cable was found . This was not near our utilities area.
Confirming with husband later that no old.satellite had been there.
All we can figure is during building process , this old cable was thrown by someone else in dirt pile and when dirt was smoothed out ,it was buried . We had been careful about cleanup But anyone who has built and done much own labor as we did .knows the intensity.

I have thank the newly disturbed soil which will support this new building .

All ground is sacred ground .

From ice falls to Newly producing Botanical.This year has been a new level of being of land . Always learning the way of new here. The song to me and to the land .

I don't post a lot ,and with data center in news ,more mindful for sure.
But I wanted to share

Decades ago ,hops was planted but did make it .
Last year , in the recycled trampoline garden arch . More was planted in a bed I had been working on soil soul for awhile.

This year ! Wow

Learning their time for harvest

Next is wild american plums. The shrubs planted 5 years ago or so and producing a lot
But I have never processed .
They are beautiful to see ,full as they ripen
Harvest ,as pawpaws when light to touch or on ground .give another day or two on counter and lightly steam fruit pulp juice off seeds . I am freezing this pulp and will make. A jelly later this winter when my hands are less full.

Gratitude for both of these gifts .

It's the first day of the month
Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit .
Remembering when we first moved here, while the Bob white danced then as they do now in the meadow pockets . The rabbits were not as populated.

The land then, had been a bare corn and hay field . The soil strained and a dz older trees at one corner . With clean fence rows .

While I knew the fairies of my childhood home, the larger knowing was growing .When our children came along , I was shown to set aside a special area by. old walnut tree . This was a early treehouse and play area for them .But equally it was sacred ground for the wee fairy folk. I was asking them to come and help .

For many years following , the children could go freely into the space , but as adults, we had to ask permission to enter the set sacred space

Over time , the fairies moved around into different areas of the land .Co creating with the other Sentient
beings here, into a sacred sanctuary.
For them .For us.

While over time , my past experiences of retail has been here, what is here is priceless.

marking days as this one of giving thanks for all that we have been given in abundance.

As the diverse types of plants , the diverse types of honoring.
