Happy Juneteenth! ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻Today we honor a truly historic day. Juneteenth marks the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States.

On this day in 1865, federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to ensure that all enslaved people were finally freed, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. That two-year delay is a painful reminder that laws alone cannot change the hearts of those who choose hatred and racism over humanity.

🌿 Happy ! 🌿

Born in New York in 1939, Jack Herer took his first puff in 1969 and never looked back, dedicating the rest of his life to making legal cannabis access a reality for everyone.

He went to prison for collecting petition signatures. He wrote The Emperor Wears No Clothes from a jail cell, a book that sold nearly a million copies and became the bible of the h**p legalization movement. It earned him two legendary titles: the Emperor of H**p and The H**peror. 👑

He spent his final years traveling the country spreading the gospel of the plant he loved. In 2010, he passed away shortly after delivering a passionate pro-cannabis speech at an Oregon festival, true to his cause until the very end.
His parting words said it all:

"You've got to be out of your mind not to smoke d0pe. It is the best thing the world has ever had."

Today we honor a man who turned one smoke session into a lifetime of advocacy. The legal landscape he fought so hard for? He helped build it. 🫡
