💛 Two schools. One community. One hometown hero.

This Friday, Bucyrus and Wynford are coming together for a special show of support for Bucyrus native, BHS alumnus and longtime Columbus meteorologist Marshall McPeek as he battles sarcoma.

Both schools will distribute yellow ribbons at the homecoming football game, with players, cheerleaders and band members joining in solidarity.

Arrive early to get your ribbon while supplies last. Let's show Marshall that his hometown community is behind him! 💛

WHY DOES THE CATHOLIC CHURCH BLESS ANIMALS?

The Church blesses animals not because they receive the sacraments, but because they are part of God’s good creation and serve as companions and helpers to humanity.

📖 CCC 2416 teaches that animals are God’s creatures and that we owe them kindness. They glorify God simply by existing!

St. Francis of Assisi called all creatures his brothers and sisters, recognizing God’s goodness reflected in creation.

As Fr. Hugh Barbour explains, blessing animals invokes God’s blessing upon the help, companionship, and comfort they bring to human life.
