Phew! Its been a while since I've been on here. Life had other plans. But I am back, and no worries, Info in an Instant isn't going anywhere, except maybe across the great state of Wyoming.....or further. Who knows!

Lander pig roast was great! Lots of people coming by to find out what Info was about. Handed out a few stickers AND got info into the hands of Senator John Barrasso! Progress!

So happy to be here at the Lander Pig Roast. Good food, fun and people. But its hot, and I'm melting. I think I'm going to pack up at 2pm. And find some air conditioning.

Tomorrow I am meeting with the Fremont County (WY) 911 Communications dispatch center to brain storm on how to partner with them for our citizens living with disabilities. I am excited to see how we can collaborate!

One in four people have a disability. And the disability population is the only population that you can join in a nanosecond.

If you aren't advocating for the disability world, why not? It could be you.

Is it accessible if you have to get help to access it?

Many bathrooms are technically accessible for people that have mobility aids, wheelchairs, walkers etc. Zero threshold, no steps etc. BUT if a person using a mobility aid needs help to actually access it, does this make it truly accessible?

For instance; many bathrooms claim they are accessible, and indeed have a handicap stall. But at many locations, accessing the actual door to the bathroom requires someone to help. The Shoshone Rose for instance. The bathrooms near the restaurant are this way.

In my opinion, true accessibility equals independent use.

Thoughts?
