What a wild 7 weeks...it feels like a million years and yesterday all at once.
7 since my scheduled surgical revision L5 S1 fusion and bilateral SI joint fusion...6 weeks since my emergency wash out due to sudden infection and illness. And 5 since constant fever, dehydration, chills, body aches and vomiting.
First, I want to thank everyone who helped me in all aspects...my doctors, surgeons, nurses, assistants, my husband, my parents ( mom, dad, bother, my husband's entire family) my family, my friends, my co workers, managers, owners, my clients, my fuzzy patients, my horse's barn manager, staff, riders, my fuzzy babies...everyone who reached out, sent healing thoughts, prayers and positive vibes...words cannot express my gratitude.
So here we are...6 weeks post...and my neurosurgeon is happy with my healing progression. I am cleared for physical therapy, which is music to this rehab nurse's ears...cleared to drive short distances..and cleared to start some light stretching and hydrotherapy.
All this to say, I am one large step closer to getting my life back! To all my clients, thank you for your patience and know I will be taking appointments as soon as I am medically advised to do so. I have learned so much during this forced down time...both through continuing education as well as personal and first hand experience, which I will feature in some educational posts in the coming days.
I thank you all, from the bottom of my heart...and fused spine...for all of your healing thoughts and kind/motivational words.
I cannot wait to get back onto my, now very stabilized, two feet, and continue to provide comfort, strength, recovery and healing to our animal companions.
