For almost 20 years as a nurse, I’ve cared for people during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
But over time, I realized something important.
Many of the problems bringing people into our hospitals can’t be solved at the bedside.
I can treat an asthma attack, but I can’t remove the pollution that may have contributed to it.
I can care for someone with diabetes, but I can’t fix food insecurity.
I can comfort a patient struggling with mental health, but I can’t solve the housing crisis, lack of access to care, or financial stress that may be fueling it.
I can help people in an emergency.
But what if we started preventing the emergency?
That’s why I’m launching Advocacy Beyond the Bedside.
This isn’t about politics. It’s about people.
It’s about understanding how healthcare, education, food access, housing, the environment, public policy, and our communities all impact our health and quality of life.
My goal is simple:
✅ Educate
✅ Empower
✅ Connect
✅ Inspire action
Whether you’re a healthcare worker, teacher, veteran, parent, business owner, student, or simply someone who cares about your community, you belong here.
Because advocacy doesn’t start when someone arrives at the hospital.
It starts long before that.
If this mission speaks to you, follow the page and invite someone who believes we can build healthier, stronger communities together.
What issue do you believe affects the health and well being of your community the most?
