Most parents know to watch for thirst, but dehydration can start before your child ever asks for a drink.

During the summer, kids lose fluids through outdoor play, sports, swimming, and heat exposure, making it easier to become dehydrated without realizing it.

Some early signs to watch for:
☀️ Fatigue
☀️ Headaches
☀️ Irritability
☀️ Dry lips
☀️ Dark yellow urine
☀️ Dizziness
☀️ Lower energy levels

One of the simplest ways to help prevent dehydration is to offer water consistently throughout the day and encourage regular water breaks during outdoor activities.

Welcome to SC Book Club!📚 A community for families raising lifelong readers.

Whether you’re local or joining us from across the country, we’d love to have you be part of our reading community. Through monthly book picks, online discussions, and virtual resources, everyone can participate no matter where they live.

Each month, we share thoughtfully curated book picks for every stage of reading, from pre-kindergarten to middle school, along with a featured adult selection for parents and lifelong learners. All reading levels are welcome!
