Day one of our Grant recipients site visit: Wings (ALAS) NGO - Informative and inspiring meetings with Eleaor and Dr. Michele...the equipment HOH funded through our Grant Program allows mobile screening, diagnosis and treatment of Cervical cancer in women. Cervical cancer is the number one cause of death in Guatemalan women if left untreated.
This organizaon educates throughout the communities empowering women and opening conversations about healthy non violence masculinity.

Hola! Hands of Healing Team is wrapping up our week in Guatemala. Partnering with Salud y Paz and their amazing interpreters, the HOH team provided medical, dental, vision, and education services to 418 people in indigenous Mayan communities. Thank you to everyone for making this trip possible, team members, and everyone for support and prayers.

It's been a busy week!! Our medical team arrived safely to Chichicastenango. The weather has been warm and dry enabling us to serve four different villages: Semeja II, Chutzorop, Lacama, and Chuisajcab. We treated a variety of chronic diseases and overuse musculoskeletal aches and pains. Chronic malnutrition was common. Our dentist was busy with extractions and vision team made glasses on site!

We had dinner with our scholarship recipient, Jackeline, who will finish her radiology tech degree in July. The incredible determination she has shown to obtain her degree is phenomenal. We are so proud of her.

On Thursday, the grant team met with MAIA Impact in Solola which received monies to support a seminar on Girls empowerment, leadership and reproductive health. 77 girls completed the week-long course.
The secondary school is led by indigenous women for indigenous girls. They believe education is the tool against adversity. These young women are reshaping their futures and uplifting their communities.
