- Verify your surgeon is board-certified. "Cosmetic surgeon" isn't the same as board-certified plastic surgeon, the training and standards behind that title matter.
- Swelling and bruising are part of the process, final results often take weeks to months. Judging your results too soon can create unnecessary worry.
- Follow your pre-op and post-op instructions closely. Don't skim them!! They're written to help you heal safely and get the best possible result.
- Recovery timelines are individual. Don't compare your healing to someone else's Instagram post — no two bodies heal the same way, on the same schedule.
- Make sure your surgery is performed in an accredited facility. Accreditation means the space meets strict safety standards, including emergency equipment and protocols.
