Today, our Veteran Services Coordinator, Denise Page, had the incredible privilege of meeting Mr. Henry F. Jackson, one of the original Montford Point Marines, along with his wife and daughter. 🇺🇸❤️

Mr. Jackson enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943, trained at Montford Point while our military was still segregated, and became part of a remarkable group of Marines who helped change American history.

For Denise, who grew up fascinated by military history and political science, this was one of those rare moments when you realize you're not just reading about history—you're sitting beside it.

And there's a sweet personal connection: Mr. Jackson turns 101 on August 26th, the same birthday as Denise's dad, an Air Force Veteran. ❤️

At Silver Star Homecare, we're honored to serve Veterans and help them remain safe, supported, and independent at home. Meeting Mr. Jackson was an extraordinary reminder of the lives and stories behind the Veterans we have the privilege to serve.

Happy 101st Birthday, Mr. Jackson. Semper Fi. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 What an incredible day of service, remembrance, and community! 🇺🇸

On May 30th, the Silver Star Homecare team was honored to participate in the Memorial Day BBQ & Resource Fair hosted by the City of North Las Vegas Veterans & Community Resource Center.

The event brought together veterans, families, community organizations, resource providers, and local businesses to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice while connecting veterans with valuable services and support throughout Southern Nevada.

We were proud to meet so many veterans and community members, share information about our services, distribute resources, and build new relationships with individuals and organizations who share our commitment to serving those who served our nation.

A special thank you to Walter Lescano, Hunter Cain, and Helena Otero for their tremendous hard work, leadership, and dedication in bringing this event together. Your commitment to our veteran and military community was evident throughout the day, and the success of the event reflects the countless hours invested behind the scenes.

We would also like to thank the City of North Las Vegas Veterans & Community Resource Center, the Southern Nevada Veteran Providers Group, all participating organizations, volunteers, vendors, and attendees who helped make this event such a meaningful success.

At Silver Star Homecare, we believe that caring for veterans extends far beyond healthcare—it means showing up, building connections, and supporting those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.

We are already looking forward to the Fall event and another opportunity to come together in service to our veterans and community.

Today we had the honor of attending a beautiful Memorial Day service at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary & Cemetery in Henderson/Boulder City. The ceremony was deeply moving and such a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women who served our country. 🇺🇸

A HUGE Thank you to Palm Mortuary Boulder Hwy and Mr. Phillip Webb who organized this event.

Following the service, we were proud to participate in the community resource fair and truly felt privileged to have been invited to stand alongside so many organizations dedicated to supporting our Veteran community.

At Silver Star Homecare, we are passionate about helping Veterans remain safe, independent, and dignified in the comfort of their own homes. Through our non-medical Home Health Aides and Personal Care Assistants, we assist with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, companionship, and other day-to-day support that can make a tremendous difference in someone’s quality of life.

Sometimes our Veterans do not need a facility or major medical intervention — they simply need a little extra help around the house to continue living independently and comfortably in the homes they love.

To all who served, and to the families who continue to carry that legacy forward, thank you. It was an honor to spend this Memorial Day remembering, reflecting, and serving alongside our community. ❤️🤍💙
