Today, our hearts are heavy as we join our Las Vegas community in mourning the loss of an LVMPD officer and United States Marine Corps veteran who was killed in the line of duty.
We extend our deepest condolences to the officer's family, loved ones, fellow officers, and all who are grieving this unimaginable loss. We honor a life dedicated to protecting others—both in service to our nation and in service to our community.
Events like these remind us that trauma extends far beyond a single moment. It touches families, partners, children, coworkers, first responders, healthcare professionals, dispatchers, and an entire community.
We also want to recognize the extraordinary efforts of the law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, emergency physicians, nurses, trauma teams, and every medical professional who worked tirelessly to save this officer's life. Thank you for your courage, compassion, and commitment under the most difficult of circumstances.
As a mental health community, we encourage everyone affected by this tragedy to reach out for support. Grief is not a sign of weakness—it is a reflection of love, service, and humanity. Healing begins when we allow ourselves and others the space to mourn, to connect, and to receive care.
Today, we honor a hero.
Today, we stand with those who serve.
Today, we remember.
