Recovery isn’t easy, but the right tools make all the difference.
Here’s everything you need to support your healing journey following your operation:
🩺 WOUND & SCAR CARE
• Foam pads, medical tape, and gauze protect incision sites and absorb drainage in the early stages. Foam pads are helpful to protect the skin when it’s most delicate right after your surgery.
• Medical soap helps keep the surgical area clean and lowers the risk of infection.
• Scar gel supports smoother, flatter scars while improving color and texture over time.
💊 BRUISING & COMFORT SUPPORT
• Take prescribed medications as directed, including pain relief, antibiotics, and anti-nausea support.
• Arnica and Bromelain can help reduce bruising and swelling. Surgeon’s approval needed.
• Constipation is common after surgery due to anesthesia, medication, and limited movement. Stool softeners can help prevent straining and should be started one week before surgery.
• Lip balm helps combat dryness from dehydration and medications, preventing cracking and irritation.
💧HYDRATION & HEALING FUEL
• Staying hydrated is essential. Water supports circulation, reduces inflammation, and helps flush medications from your system. Electrolytes do the same thing but twice as much!
• Protein shakes & meal replacement drinks aid tissue repair and replenish key minerals like potassium and sodium.
👚 SWELLING & SUPPORT
• Post-surgical garments (vests, bodysuits, bras, etc.) help reduce swelling and support your body as it heals.
• Compression socks improve circulation and reduce the risk of blood clots, especially when mobility is limited.
• Loose, comfortable clothing like robes or oversized tees can improve comfort and make dressing changes easier.
Remember: Recovery isn’t just physical — it’s about caring for your body, calming your mind, and supporting your overall well-being. Stay consistent, be patient, and trust the process 💫
