A Little Throwback… With Some Very Special People
In honor of National Grandparents Day this Sunday, we’re sharing a few throwback photos of the EverHome Care Advisors team with some of the people who helped shape us… our grandparents.
National Grandparents Day is a time to celebrate the love, guidance and wisdom grandparents bring to our families and the special connection they create between generations.
The day has a pretty wonderful history, too.
It began through the efforts of Marian McQuade, a West Virginia advocate (like us!) for older adults who believed strongly in recognizing the important role grandparents play in families and communities. Her efforts eventually gained national attention, and in 1978, President Jimmy Carter officially proclaimed National Grandparents Day.
It’s a day to honor the stories, traditions, values and life lessons passed from one generation to the next AND the grandparents who have served as caregivers, mentors, cheerleaders and anchors for their families.
Before we were care advisors, advocates, nurses, social workers and professionals, we were simply kids lucky enough to have some pretty special people in our corner.
They spoiled us, taught us, worried about us, cared for us, made us laugh, shared their stories…and somehow always seemed to have a little extra time for us.
Some are still here to hug. Some live on in the stories we tell, the things they taught us and the people we’ve become.
And maybe that’s one of the reasons the work we do at EverHome Care Advisors means so much to us. Behind every person we help is a lifetime of memories, relationships and people who love them.
