Thank you, McKayla, for participating in our Nursing Health Education Symposium and inspiring the next generation!

We’re proud to recognize McKayla Gutasy, one of Fort Hudson’s dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants, for recently representing Fort Hudson at a nursing career panel for approximately 60 students, parents, and individuals exploring careers in healthcare.

McKayla’s journey with Fort Hudson began shortly after graduating high school. Today, she serves on our Ambulatory Dementia Unit, where her passion for caring for individuals living with dementia shines through in the work she does every day.

At the panel, McKayla shared her personal experience and genuine passion for healthcare while encouraging students to consider starting their healthcare careers as a CNA or PCA. Her story was especially meaningful because she was once in their shoes — beginning her own healthcare journey at a young age.

Today, McKayla has grown into a dedicated caregiver who not only makes a difference for our residents, but also mentors and supports our newest team members.

Thank you, McKayla, for sharing your story, inspiring future caregivers, and proudly representing Fort Hudson and long-term care! 💙

Session 2 of the Human Side of Systems is underway!
The Engagement Gap: Rethinking How We Reach People with Brittany Rozelle is happening at Fort William Henry Hotel and Conference Center right now! This collaboration with the Adirondack Rural Health Network/Adirondack Health Institute brought together over 30 healthcare and social care professionals for this session which reframes engagement through a human-centered lens, exploring how communication, context and competing priorities shape behavior - and how small shifts can lead to a more meaningful connection.
