Today, service dogs are helping their partners navigate life with greater independence and confidence. Therapy dogs are bringing comfort, connection, and support to people throughout our communities.

Different paths. One mission.

The impact of these partnerships doesn't end when a team graduates, completes a visit, or leaves an event. It continues in the moments that follow, in the lives touched, the confidence gained, the comfort provided, and the possibilities created for the future.

Together doesn't just happen within Fidos. It extends into the communities our therapy teams serve every day.

From schools, libraries, hospitals, and community events to supporting individuals and communities following times of crisis, our therapy dog teams provide comfort, connection, and a calming presence when it's needed most.

Whether it's helping a child build confidence while reading, bringing comfort to someone who needs it, or supporting a community during difficult times, these teams show up with compassion, understanding, and a wagging tail.

🎓🐾 Before we close out this year's graduation season, we're proud to celebrate our 2026 service dog graduates. 🐾🎓

This year, we congratulate Team Astra & Trisha, Team Shadow & Sandy, and Team Piper & Jeanette as they graduate and begin an exciting new chapter together.

These incredible teams represent countless hours of training, dedication, perseverance, and partnership. Together, they have reached an important milestone and are beginning a future filled with greater independence, confidence, and possibility.

🎓🐾 Congratulations to Our 2026 Fidos Juniors! 🐾🎓

Today, we’re celebrating an incredible group of Juniors as they graduate after a year filled with learning, service, growth, and unforgettable memories.

Throughout the year, these dedicated young volunteers have supported our mission, learned more about service dogs and training, and made a meaningful impact along the way. Their compassion, enthusiasm, and commitment to helping others have been so inspiring to watch.

Last week, some of our therapy dog teams visited the Howard County Library Elkridge Branch for the D.E.A.R. (Dogs Educating & Assisting Readers) program! 📚🐾

During the visit, children had the opportunity to practice their reading skills while spending time with our therapy dogs in a calm, supportive environment. From sharing stories to enjoying plenty of pets and tail wags, it was such a special experience for everyone involved.

Programs like D.E.A.R. help build confidence, encourage a love of reading, and show just how meaningful the bond between people and dogs can be.

Welcome to the Fidos Family, Melody! 🐾💙

Today, we’re excited to introduce Melody, the newest service dog in training! This adorable 8-week-old pup comes to us from and is just beginning her journey.

Melody is being raised by Skylar Fairbee. She has a bright future ahead of her, and we can’t wait to watch this little girl grow, learn, and take her first steps toward becoming a life-changing partner.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men, women, and pups who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸🐾

We remember those we have lost and honor the sacrifices made by so many military families, Veterans, and service members. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

From all of us at Fidos For Freedom, thank you to those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. We will never forget you.❤️🤍💙
