The Lawrence Women's Temple doors are opening for our 2026โ2027 cycle, and you are warmly invited to join us! This year, we will practice with the theme In Devotion to the Living Goddess.
Chameli Gad, yogini and founder of Awakening Women, writes: โThe living Goddess is an intimacy pulsating in the depth of your longing. She is the rotting of leaves in the autumn and the voice that whispers the truth. She is grief and rage, wetness in water, heat in fire.โ
The Living Goddess is not a distant ideal or a perfected version of ourselves we must strive to become. She is the sacred life already moving within and around us - in your body, in the earth, in your longings and instincts, in what is ending, and in what is asking to be born.
She is present in our tenderness and our fierceness, our grief and our joy, our silence and our expression. To live in devotion to Her is to practice meeting the fullness of life with presence, reverence, and a willingness to whole-heartedly engage with what is real.
Throughout this upcoming series, we will take our place among the yoginis and wisdom keepers who have gathered in circle across generations. Through ceremony, meditation, prayer, movement, singing, deep listening and speaking, and respectful touch practices, we will explore what it means to recognize and embody the Goddess as she lives and expresses herself uniquely through each of us.
We will begin with two open introductory circles โ one in September and one in October. These gatherings are for women who are new to the Temple, as well as those who are returning to the circle.

During our time together, we will enter several of the foundational practices of Womenโs Temple and begin creating the shared container for the season ahead. Each practice offers a doorway into presence โ a way of slowing down, inhabiting the body, and listening for the deeper current of wisdom and life moving within us.
No previous experience with Womenโs Temple, Goddess spirituality, meditation, or embodiment practice is needed. You are welcome to come exactly as you are, with your curiosity, your longing, and whatever this season of your life is presenting.
Since the beginning of time, women have gathered in circle to pray, move, grieve, celebrate, remember, and renew. When we take our seat in the circle, we enter something both ancient and immediate. We practice for ourselves, for one another, and for the generations yet to come.
The Temple doors are opening and you are warmly welcome to join us.
With love and devotion from my seat of practice
to you,
Jennifer
