🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀
At Cornerstone Family Medicine, we encourage you to make your breast health a priority. Awareness and screening can help save lives! 💗
Know the facts:
🎀 About 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer during her lifetime.
🎀 An estimated 321,910 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026.
🎀 When breast cancer is found before it spreads outside the breast, the 5-year relative survival rate is greater than 99%.
Take action for your health:
✅ Stay current on mammograms. For women at average risk, the USPSTF recommends screening every other year from ages 40–74. Talk with your provider about the schedule that fits your individual risk.
✅ Know your family history. Some women at higher risk need earlier or additional screening.
✅ Know what is normal for you. Report a new lump, skin dimpling, ni**le changes, or unusual ni**le discharge promptly—don’t wait for your next mammogram.
Due for a mammogram or unsure where to start? Contact Cornerstone Family Medicine. We can help you review your risk and arrange appropriate screening.
This month, we honor survivors, support those receiving treatment, and remember those we have lost. 💕
Make time for yourself. Encourage someone you love to do the same.
