The best patient care doesn't happen in a silo. It happens when doctors, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other providers actually work together. 🤝

That's interprofessional education, and it's one of the things AHEC champions. When future healthcare providers learn alongside each other, they're better prepared to collaborate in the real world.

Better teamwork = better outcomes for patients. It really is that simple.

Where you live, what you earn, and whether you have reliable transportation — these things affect your health just as much as what happens in a doctor's office.

We call these the social determinants of health. And they're a big reason why rural communities like ours face unique healthcare challenges.
