Yes. Protein matters.
It helps support muscle, recovery, fullness, and overall health..
But I also think we’ve reached a point where, for some women, “getting enough protein” is starting to feel like another job.
How many grams are in this?
Did I hit my target?
Should I add more?
Is this meal high protein enough?
And when eating starts to feel like one more thing you have to get right, it can create more food noise instead of less.
That’s usually my cue to zoom back out.
Protein is important, but it’s still just one part of a meal.
Start with a good protein source, add foods that complete the meal, and then enjoy it.
The goal isn’t to build the most perfect plate possible.
It’s to find a way of eating that supports your body AND feels simple enough to actually live with.
So if food has been taking up more mental space than you want lately, you probably don’t need another rule.
You may just need permission to make it much simpler. 🫶🏼
