Good Saturday morning, Friday was a nice day. I had a dentist appointment and I ran a few errands with Vanessa. And then Arianne came, and I ran a few errands with her. Then, Todd came home & we relaxed & had fun together. It was a pretty Great Friday. I had to take extra pain meds from being in the wheelchair so much, but it was worth it.
It’s a beautiful Saturday here in Indiana. Once Todd gets home, we will be going to the Zoo . One of the first times of this year. It is such a beautiful place to go & enjoy ourselves. We are always surrounded by so many people, having fun. God is good to allow us to be able to go to the Zoo today!💞🙏💞
"THE LION, THE BEAR, AND THE ZOO
But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it, and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it, and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.” (1 Sam 17: 34-37)
Before David ever stood in front of Goliath, he had already stood in front of lions and bears. The difference was that there was no audience, no applause, and no stage. Just some sheep, quietly going about their day and barely aware of what David was doing for them. It was not the kind of moment people would call spectacular, yet those small moments were exactly where God was preparing David for something greater.
Have you ever been to a zoo before? Come to think about it, most of us would stay safely inside the car and look at the lions and the bears through the glass at a safe distance. No one goes there thinking about chasing them up close.
But David did not face the lions and the bears from behind. He faced them up close. He ran toward them, fought them, and overcame them. That is where his courage was formed and where his faith was built. For David, Goliath was not even a big threat compared to the lions and bears he had already faced.
And this is where this story speaks to us. We want to face Goliath right away, but we try to avoid the lions and the bears. We want the grand victory, but we overlook the quiet preparation. Yet God does his deepest work in the unseen moments. The quiet battles, the small challenges, the moments no one notices, these are the places where faith is formed. Do not underestimate the small battles in your life. They may be the very ground where God is preparing you."

1 Samuel 17:34-37
[34] But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock,
[35] I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. [36] I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God!
[37] The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the Lord be with you!”
