Warren County Special Olympics athlete, Kelly Crabtree, has been hard at work preparing for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota coming up on June 20-26. While at practice, Kelly was surprised with a gift from sponsor, Wawa!

Wish her luck as she heads up to compete and represent Ohio! Kelly is one of just 4 Special Olympics Ohio swimmers chosen to participate in the USA games. Kelly will be swimming with three other Team Ohio athletes - Lauren and Rachel from Hamilton County and Kaitlyn from Ross County.

There is a total of 53 athletes and 9 unified partners representing the state of Ohio! To be selected, athletes needed to earn a "Gold" in the competing event during the Winter or Summer Games of 2025 and then be nominated by their coaches and local coordinators. Once nominated, Ohio Special Olympics made the selections.

Along with athletes, coaches for Team Ohio are selected by nomination as well. Molly Tilly, who coaches our group of Springboro swimmers, will be representing Team Ohio at the USA Games!

Kelly Crabtree's event schedule is below:
🏊Monday 50 M Breaststroke 11:25 anticipated start time (preliminary)
🏊Tuesday Breaststroke 11:35 anticipated start time (finals if advances)
🏊Thursday June 25-100 M Freestyle preliminary heats 11:20 anticipated start
🏊Friday June 26-100 M Freestyle finals (if advances) 10:40 anticipated start

Way to go, Kelly and Coach Molly!!! 🥇
