Mariacher Shearing Services Mariacher Shearing Services is a full service provider of shearing for all fiber producing livestock. I travel the entire east coast.

Mariacher Shearing Services, owned and managed by Jay Mariacher, is a professional service that primarily services the Northeastern USA. Jay brings 30 years of sheep shearing experience to the alpaca community, and feels privileged to have shorn several thousand alpacas in more recent years. There are many established alpaca farms who are happy to provide referrals if desired. Jay does make a southern run in late winter/early spring each year and is happy to travel as far south as he can find work. The schedule is filling up fast for the 2012 season, but Jay does have some availability so get in touch soon! Winning the open category in the 2010 Light Livestock Shearing contest really put Jay on the map for the alpaca community. Along with being trained by Matt Best, Jay truly has a flair for shearing and a feel for the alpacas. Jay also held his own taking 2nd place in the open category for the 2100 Light Livestock shearing contest. Mariacher Shearing Services also trims teeth and toenails, and is happy to file down fighting teeth as well and is available for herd health days at your farm year round.

Attention Please!!!

Its been brought to my attention that rumors, talk is going around that I'm retiring or semi retiring from shearing. Thats news to me. 😠 I have no plans on quitting shearing anytime soon.
I'LL SAY IT AGAIN for the folks in the back. I'M NOT RETIRING.

I don't know how / if my schedule may change because of my absence this past season. Ill be beginning the scheduling process earlier this year, so I can make necessary changes.

I posted in August that my Drs signed off on my PT and I could return to work. Since August I've shorn over 60 cria & a few adult alpacas along with about 300 sheep. Im able to do everything I've been doing. Ive kept yall updated along my injury, surgery and recovery. Ive NOT ONCE mentioned retiring. So wherever this comes from is upsetting to me. I truly appreciate the friends that's giving me the word on the streets (or in the barns)
Please share this with anyone needing shearing next spring/summer. Don't accept false information without checking in with me FIRST.

YES, I have "officially " bought my family farm in Pennsylvania. Yes.. at some point in the next year or two I'll likely move back to the farm where I was born and raised. But THAT doesn't mean I still can't travel shearing. We'll worry about that whenever it happens. But that's none of yalls concerns right now. Thanks for your time,
patience and understanding, Jay. Scheduling Emails will be coming soon after Thanksgiving. # mariachershearingservices.

Hey Folks just wanted to let you know that this page is being threatened to be permanently deleted. It's been 367 days since I posted anything on this page . Apparently somehow I've gone against community standards & hateful speech. Again. It's been a year since I posted anything here. I've appealed. Stay tuned. This is CRAP.

**Urgent notice ***
To all my friends and shearing clients patiently waiting for my annual email blast beginning the scheduling process for the 2023 tour, my computer has crashed and its impossible to send 500 emails from my phone. My computer is being worked on. I am still shearing for yet another season. I appreciate the calls, texts and messages inquiring about my health and shearing schedule. I am alive, well and still kicking. Praying that my computer will be up and running in a couple days. Hopefully email blast will be in you mail this weekend. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Jay.
