People love to say breastfeeding moms are “doing too much” until they see a photo like this and suddenly realize:

Women have been surviving on strength nobody fully talks about.

This mom is running an ultramarathon. Breastfeeding her baby. Eating watermelon with one hand. Probably dehydrated. Probably overstimulated. Probably running on three collective hours of sleep and a nervous system held together by caffeine and instinct.

And somehow society still treats motherhood like it’s not physically demanding.

Breastfeeding alone burns hundreds of calories a day. Your body is literally producing human tissue, immune support, hormones, hydration, antibodies, comfort, regulation, and nutrition in real time. Add sleep deprivation, healing, carrying babies, mental load, and trying to remain a functioning human?

Honestly mothers are out here performing biological extreme sports daily and people still call it “just staying home with the baby.”

The female body is unreal. Not perfect. Not effortless. Not always magical.

But unreal.

And if you’ve ever breastfed while eating cold food over your baby’s head like a raccoon in survival mode…

you saw this picture and felt it in your soul.

Almost 15 years ago, I began my placenta encapsulation journey with this sweet girl’s placenta. Today, at her own request, I started teaching her how to assist with encapsulations — something she is absolutely capable of learning and doing well.

Never, when I first stepped into this crazy and beautiful journey, did I imagine I’d one day be passing this knowledge down to the next generation. Watching her learn, ask questions, and step into this work beside me has filled my momma heart with so much pride and excitement. 💛

A breastfed baby does not need 8 ounces.
They don’t need bigger and bigger bottles every month.

Because breastmilk isn’t formula.

It changes.
It adapts.
It gets richer as your baby grows.

That’s why most breastfed babies stay around
4–5 ounces per feeding, even as they get older.

Not because they’re not growing…
but because your milk is.

So when someone says,
“they should be eating more by now”

Just remember,
Your baby isn’t falling behind.

They’re being fed exactly what they need,
exactly how it was designed.

Trust your body.
Trust your baby.

They know what they’re doing.

I’ve been encapsulating for others for 14 years. I’ve served countless families and many families for multiple babies over the years. Still, 14 years later, it is humbling and such an honor to be a part of your birth stories.
Today I was invited into the ICU room of a momma I’ve been working with since 2016 as her family has grown. She had pregnancy complications. Praise God 🙌🏼 she and her tiny one are going to be okay. If you feel led, please pray for a quick recovery for C and her preemie, N. Pray also for dad as he’s making sure his family is taken care of. 💜

Plan accordingly! But if you happen to get pregnant, I’ll be ready for you in November! 💜

Roughhousing looks chaotic to adults, but to a child’s brain it is structured learning. Psychological research shows that playful physical interaction is essential for healthy emotional and social development during early childhood.

When children wrestle, chase, and tumble in safe settings, they learn how to regulate force, read social cues, and stop when someone signals discomfort. This teaches self control empathy and boundaries in ways words alone cannot.

Children who are never allowed to horseplay miss critical lessons about power and restraint. Without this practice, the brain has fewer opportunities to learn how to manage strong impulses safely. Research links the absence of rough play with higher levels of aggressive behavior later in life.

Roughhousing also strengthens emotional regulation. During physical play, stress rises and falls naturally. The nervous system practices excitement without losing control. This builds resilience and improves impulse management as children grow.

Parents do not need to fear rough play. When guided with clear limits and supervision, it becomes one of the most effective tools for teaching cooperation respect and emotional balance. Healthy roughhousing is not about chaos. It is about wiring the brain to handle strength responsibly.
