Why are nap transitions common during sleep training?
Baby sleep cycles last about 50 minutes, much shorter than an adult’s. If independent sleep skills aren’t in place yet, your baby may wake up at the end of each cycle, leading to short, frequent naps—especially if they need help falling back asleep.
But here’s the good news: with sleep training, babies learn to connect sleep cycles! That’s when naps start to lengthen and consolidate, allowing for a smoother daily routine and an age-appropriate sleep schedule.
A personalized sleep plan can make all the difference—just ask my clients! ⬇️
