Every millimeter of prostate biopsy tissue matters.

And right now, traditional specimen handling is quietly costing patients some of those millimeters.

Take a look at the image. Those short, fragmented cores are what pathologists are often working with when tissue isn't properly stabilized after collection.

When a biopsy core gets dropped into a formalin bottle, unsupported and free-floating, it coils, fragments, and contracts.

But here's what the data shows: the global average core length using traditional bottle methods is about 12.8 mm. With pre-analytic stabilization using the Lumea BxBoard®, that number jumps to 16.4 mm.

That's a 28% increase in evaluable tissue.

More tissue means:
✔ More accurate Gleason grading
✔ Fewer inconclusive ASAP diagnoses
✔ Lower genomic test cancellation rates (2.1x lower QNS)

Fragmentation isn't just an aesthetic issue. It obscures pattern transitions, compresses high-grade foci, and introduces the kind of variability that leads to systematic downgrading.

Those aren't incidental shifts. They reflect cancers that were always high-grade but never properly visualized.
