Our Independent Living residents had a wonderful time at our Ice Cream Social with Putnam County Homecare and Hospice! 🍦💛
This was our first event together, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to begin building such a meaningful connection. The afternoon was full of smiles, laughter, and sweet treats!
We’re already looking forward to many more opportunities to spend time together…and we can’t wait for the next ice cream social! 😊

💙Meet One of Our Assisted Living Residents💙
This resident has been part of our Assisted Living community since January, and even before moving in, she already had her heart set on The Meadows. As a retired nurse, she first became familiar with our community through her work and knew it was the place she would want to call home one day.

After visiting, it was the actions of the staff that truly stood out to her. Their friendliness, compassion, and willingness to help made a lasting impression and helped confirm that this was the right place for her next chapter. 💙

When asked what she enjoys most about living here, her answer was simple — the people. She shared how much she appreciates not only the nursing staff and aides, but everyone who helps make the community feel welcoming. She especially values the friendships she’s built with fellow residents and the many opportunities for fellowship, activities, and attending church. 🙏

She also expressed how supported she feels in her daily life. Whether it’s help with laundry or knowing that a nurse or aide is always there when needed, that support gives her confidence and allows her to stay active and involved in the things she enjoys.

When it comes to dining, she says the food is good — and she always looks forward to spaghetti! 🍝
Some of her favorite activities include bingo, sing-alongs, devotions, balloon volleyball, giant beach ball games, and scenic drives — especially when the leaves are changing in the fall. 🍂

When asked what she would share with someone considering assisted living, her message was heartfelt:
💙 “I am so happy that I came here. The food is good, the staff and residents are friendly, and it’s been such a positive experience. I’ve made wonderful friends, and I truly enjoy being here.”

We are so thankful to have her as part of our community and proud to provide a place where residents feel supported, connected, and truly at home. 💙

💙 A few highlights from May in our Independent Living community! 💙

From Happy Hour and Coffee & Donuts to our Lunch & Learn flower planting event and Build Your Own Ice Cream Sundae Bar, our residents stayed busy enjoying time together throughout the month. ☕🍨🌸

One of the best parts of community life is the opportunity to connect with friends, try new activities, and make lasting memories along the way.

Thank you to all of our residents who make these gatherings so much fun. We’re looking forward to everything June has in store! 💙

Our employee spotlight for the month is one of our fabulous third shift staff members, Anea Escamilla, R.N. Anea has been with Meadows for nearly 16 years serving first as a state tested nurse aide before graduating nursing school from Rhodes State College in 2013. Anea then pursued and earned her bachelor’s degree in 2020 from Purdue Global University.

An only child, Anea grew up in Leipsic and currently resides in a cute farmhouse located just a few miles out of town. Anea and Corbet have been together for 13 years and they have four beautiful children, Ava, Khloe, Camila and CJ.
When not working, Anea says she loves to do anything outdoors with her family. . . be it swimming, gardening or sitting around a bonfire. Her love of being outdoors may also be part of the reason that she has always wanted to travel to Hawaii for the opportunity to see the unique beaches and volcanoes that they have there.

When asked if she had a particularly favorite work memory, Anea said that she is so grateful for all the relationships she has made with residents, residents’ families and coworkers over the years!

We are honored to host the Memorial Day Ceremony in Leipsic annually. Remembering those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom is so very meaningful. We are grateful to be part of this important tradition in our community. Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve our country! ✨

💙 Meet Denny, Jean, and their pup Molly 🐾💙

Denny and Jean have been part of our Independent Living community since December of 2025. Having strong ties to the Leipsic community, they knew that if they decided to downsize, they wanted to remain close to the town and people they know and love.

After learning more about The Meadows and speaking with our team, they felt confident this was the right place for their next chapter. They shared that they love the country setting, the beautiful community, and being able to truly make their villa feel like home. 🏡

When asked what they enjoy most about living here, their answer was simple — the people. They shared how welcoming and friendly everyone has been and said the community feels like family. They especially appreciate the relationships they’ve built with staff throughout the campus and the peace of mind that comes with living here.

Denny and Jean also enjoy opportunities for fellowship with others in the independent living community, along with meals provided throughout the week. And when it comes to dining, they say the food is awesome — especially the omelets at breakfast and Sunday brunch meals! 🍽️

Some of their favorite activities include Happy Hour, coffee and donuts, and simply spending time with others in the community. ☕💙

When asked what they would tell someone considering Independent Living, they shared how grateful and blessed they feel to be here.

Jean also shared that they give all the glory to God for leading them to this chapter in life and feel very blessed to be part of this community. 💙

🌸 Our Independent Living residents enjoyed our very first Lunch & Learn! 🌸

Residents gathered for a light soup and sandwich lunch before learning flower planting tips and tricks and planting their own flowers together. 🌼

A special thank you to Chris for volunteering her time to come speak with our residents and share her knowledge. We appreciate you helping make the afternoon both fun and informative! 💙
