Today we’re celebrating Tim, Co-Owner & Financial Manager of The Care Hive!

Tim has spent over 15 years in the healthcare industry, bringing experience, leadership, and dedication to everything he does. Behind the scenes at The Care Hive, he plays an important role in helping keep us moving forward and supporting the work we do for our patients and families. 💛

But his favorite titles may just be husband, Dad, and “T**i.” He and his beautiful wife, Kristie, have two daughters, Macon & Emma, and three grandchildren who lovingly know him as T**i.

🏭 THROWBACK THURSDAY | THE SECRET CITY ⚛️

Have you ever wondered why Oak Ridge became known as “The Secret City”?

During World War II, Oak Ridge was created as part of the top-secret Manhattan Project. Thousands of people came to the area to work, many knowing only the small piece of the project necessary to do their jobs.

Security was tight, access was restricted, and the work happening behind the gates was kept secret from much of the outside world. 🔒

But behind that history were people and families — men and women who worked hard, built lives, raised families, and helped shape the community we know today. 💛

For The Care Hive, honoring our area’s Energy Workers is personal. Their stories and legacies are an important part of East Tennessee history.

When Home and Residential Health Care is requested through the EEOICPA program, the treating physician provides documentation explaining the care that is medically necessary for the patient’s accepted condition.

That can include the:

🩺 Level of care needed
📅 Frequency of services
⏰ Duration of care
🏡 Type of care required

Every patient’s needs are different — and their care plan should reflect that.

And you do not need a White Card to receive private pay personal care services.

Meet Angie Humphrey, one of the wonderful Personal Care Attendants who makes The Care Hive so special!

Angie has been caregiving since 2004 and says, “I have always had a love for the elderly, and caregiving is my love language.” 💛

Her favorite part of home care? The relationships.

🏡 “They become my family. I feel like I get a 70-something-or-older best friend. I love all of it!”

And that’s exactly the kind of heart Angie brings to her work every day.

One thing we especially appreciate about Angie is her dependability. When a shift needs coverage or someone needs help, Angie is always willing to step in. She shows up for our patients, their families, and her Care Hive team — and that means more than she knows. 🐝

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Fun fact: Angie and her husband have raised 8 children!

Neither does our commitment to the people who depend on us. 💛

Home care means being there when patients need you — not simply when it’s convenient.

That’s why we’re so grateful for the nurses and personal care attendants who show up every day and help make sure our patients are safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own homes.

⚛️ DID YOU KNOW?

The Y-12 plant was built during World War II as part of the Manhattan Project, using electromagnetic separation to enrich uranium for the war effort.

But behind the history were the men and women who showed up to work every day. 💛

For generations of East Tennessee families, Y-12 has represented more than a workplace.

It has meant careers.
Friendships.
Sacrifice.
Family traditions.
And stories passed from one generation to the next.

Those workers helped shape the history of Oak Ridge — and their legacy continues through the families and communities they built.

At The Care Hive, serving the Energy Worker community is especially meaningful to us. We’re proud to care for the men and women whose hard work is such an important part of our area’s history. 🐝💛

Personal Care Attendants can provide valuable assistance that helps individuals remain comfortable, supported, and independent in their own homes. 💛

Depending on individual needs, assistance may include:

🏡 Mobility around the home
👕 Dressing & personal care
🛁 Bathing assistance
🍽️ Meal preparation
💛 Assistance with activities of daily living
🐝 Companionship & support

At The Care Hive, Personal Care Attendant services are available to eligible EEOICPA (White Card) patients based on their authorized plan of care. DOL guidance identifies personal care attendants among the assistive health care personnel who may provide help with activities of daily living.

💛 We Also Offer Private Pay Personal Care!

You do NOT need a White Card to receive personal care services from The Care Hive.

Our private pay option is available for individuals and families looking for extra help at home — whether that’s assistance with daily activities, companionship, or simply having a dependable caregiver there when you need one.
