Teri Beste Yoga and Fitness

Teri Beste Yoga and Fitness Sharing music, tips 'n tricks and daily inspiration for yoga, fitness and nutrition. Now I see yoga in a different way.

I've been active since I was young, running track, playing softball and taking Judo classes in high school. My love of movement led me to teach group fitness classes, weight lifting and aerobics. After I took the opportunity to learn Pilates and yoga in 2004, I began teaching a style of yoga that was primarily focused on physical aspects or Asana. I felt the need to learn more about yoga, and took

the next step in my yoga journey by studying for my 200 RYT ceritifcation with Susi Amendola at Omaha Yoga & Bodywork Center. It is a mind and body experience that I want to share with others. I am grateful for the instruction I've received from Susi, and all the wonderful teachers who have learned from her. I opened this page to share that knowledge and my love of music with others. I also am Trauma Yoga Certified through
Kripalu Trauma Sensitive Yoga program. Health Coaching certification through Real Balance Global Wellness.

One of the easiest hip stretches to do at your desk.

Comment SPINE for my free posture routine.

Sit tall and place one ankle across the opposite knee.

Keep the foot gently flexed and let the knee open out to the side.

From there, hinge forward from your hips while keeping your back relatively long.

You should feel the stretch mainly around the outer hip and glute of the crossed leg.

Hold for around 30 to 45 seconds, then switch sides.

Don’t push the knee down aggressively.

The forward lean should create the stretch for you.

If you sit for long periods, this can be a simple way to give the hips some movement without needing to get down on the floor.

Stay in a comfortable range, especially if you have hip, knee or sciatic-type symptoms.

✨ Better alignment = better results! 🧘‍♀️

When practicing a side-bending yoga stretch, focus on keeping your shoulders relaxed, chest open, legs aligned, and movement controlled. Avoid collapsing the chest or forcing the bend.

Benefits:
• Improves side-body flexibility
• Opens the shoulders and chest
• Enhances spinal mobility
• Helps improve posture and body awareness
• Releases tension around the waist and ribs

Practice gently—quality of alignment matters more than how far you bend. 🌿

When it comes to Puppy Pose, also known as Melting Heart or Anahatasana, there is a way to practice the chest-opening shoulder stretch that no one talks about, and it can help counteract all the forward leaning and hunching we do throughout the day.
