đź’› Supporting Families from the Very Beginning đź’›

Did you know that the Missouri WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program connects new and expecting moms with trained counselors who have been there too? 🤱

Peer counselors are moms from your own community who provide encouragement, education, and real-life support throughout your breastfeeding journey. From those first latches to navigating growth spurts and returning to work, they’re just a call or text away.

Through the Missouri Breastfeeding Coalition, we’re proud to highlight programs like WIC that make breastfeeding support more accessible, equitable, and personal for families across Missouri.

✨ What makes peer counselors so special?

✔️ They offer judgment-free support

✔️ They understand the ups and downs firsthand

✔️ They help build confidence in your feeding journey

✔️ They connect families to additional local resources when needed

Breastfeeding support should never feel out of reach. And thanks to WIC peer counselors, it doesn’t have to be.

If you or someone you know is pregnant or breastfeeding, reach out to your local WIC office to learn more about this incredible (and free!) support system.
