Important Policy Update from KY Integrative Autism & Family Care

We have always been committed to making care accessible to every family we serve — and that commitment is exactly why we are implementing this new policy.

Due to an increasing number of missed appointments and last-minute cancellations, we are no longer able to absorb the impact this has on our patients and our practice. Effective June 19, 2026, the following policy is in place:

✅ After 2 no-shows or 2 late cancellations (within 48 hours of your appointment), scheduling will transition to asynchronous email visits only.

✅ Asynchronous visits are not covered by insurance and are billed at $95 out of pocket — but refills and medication adjustments can still be managed.

✅ We never want to discharge a patient. This policy is about protecting access to care for everyone on our schedule.

We hate that this is necessary. But every missed appointment is a missed opportunity for a patient who is waiting and wanting to be seen. Thank you for understanding and for being part of our practice family. 💙

Flu, RSV & respiratory illnesses are STILL going around…

If your child (or you!) are dealing with a lingering cough, chest congestion, or just can’t seem to fully bounce back — one of my top recommendations is simple:

Nebulized saline

Saline helps:
✔️ Loosen mucus
✔️ Calm irritated airways
✔️ Improve cough
✔️ Support faster recovery
✔️ Decrease the need for stronger medications in many cases

Sometimes the simplest tools are the most effective.

Did you know?
If you have Medicaid, we can often help get a nebulizer machine and saline covered by insurance so you can use it at home and keep that cough moving in the right direction.

After a few tech hiccups, our online booking system is live again!

Right now, we’re opening up Leucovorin appointments only through online scheduling. Our plan is to eventually add more appointment types — but this is a great first step!

Struggling to find leucovorin? We can get it for you !

Due to nationwide shortages, many of our families have had difficulty accessing leucovorin, leading to unnecessary stress and interruptions in care — something we take very seriously.

We’re excited to share that we now have a reliable solution through a trusted compounding pharmacy that allows us to help secure compounded leucovorin for our patients.

✨ What this means for families:
• Compounded leucovorin (cash pay only)
• No unnecessary fillers or additives
• Often better tolerated, especially for sensitive patients
• Even at higher doses, pricing typically remains under $100 per month for up to 50 mg
• A more stable and predictable access option compared to retail pharmacies

After searching extensively for solutions, we were able to secure a coordinated care arrangement with a compounding pharmacy that understands the urgency of uninterrupted treatment for our patient population. The pharmacist has begun ordering medication now, and availability is anticipated within the next 2–3 weeks.
