Throughout August, our Portland Clinic took on the Dime Challenge to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Each staff member had a bottle to fill with dimes, and once it was fullโ€ฆ they got an ice bucket dumped on their head! ๐Ÿฅถ๐Ÿ˜‚

While the players make plays on the field, thereโ€™s a team on the sidelines making sure theyโ€™re ready for whatever the game brings.

Last Saturday, STAR Athletic Trainers Gary Beatty and Lauren Baes were on the sidelines with Battle Ground Academy as the Wildcats faced St. Michaelโ€™s Catholic in Fairhope, Alabama, in a game broadcast live on ESPN2.

Gary and Lauren were joined by Colin Looney, M.D., from the Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee to care for the athletes and support the team throughout the game.

Our team had the opportunity to share more about STAR Physical Therapy, our culture, and the many ways we support clinician growth through mentorship, continuing education, and residency programs.

Sarah Weatherly completed her summer internship at STAR Physical Therapy - Lexington. She has been a great asset to our patients and staff, and we have loved having her this summer. Next week, she moves to Oxford to start college at Ole Miss with the plan to become a physical therapist. We are so excited for her!

When Warren first came to us, he was unable to stand independently. Through hard work, determination, and the guidance of his therapy team, he has progressed to standing, taking steps, and walking with assistance using his prosthetic.
