We loved having physical therapist assistant students from South University spend some time with us at the clinic this week! ⭐️

It was a great opportunity for them to observe a treatment session, learn more about the world of pediatric physical therapy, and talk through the clinical reasoning and critical thinking that go into working with children.

We’re always excited to share what we love about pediatric PT and to help support and encourage the next generation of therapists. It’s an honor to be a small part of their journey!

If you play sports, your hips need this. 🔎

Your hips were designed to move in more than one direction - so let's train that way!

The Spiderman stretch is a dynamic mobility exercise that challenges flexion, extension, abduction, and rotation all in one movement. These ranges of motion are important for athletic activities such as running, cutting, lunging, squatting, and changing direction.

Add this exercise to your warm-up, cool-down, or training program to improve hip mobility and movement variability.

🏐 Back to school means back to fall sports!

Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be sharing the hip mobility routine that's helping this volleyball player stay injury-free and on the court.

First up: a hip flexor + inner thigh stretch—with a little trunk mobility mixed in for an added bonus.

Try it before practice or competition to increase flexibilty, improve mobility, and get your body ready to move. Follow us to learn more!

Who said therapy can't be fun?! Children learn best through play. Play-based therapy uses a child's natural motivation to explore, move, and interact with their environment while targeting specific developmental and functional goals. It keeps therapy activities engaging rather than feeling like "work" - leading to willingness to practice skills more frequently and for longer periods of time.

The ultimate results? Meaningful progress. Greater ability to participate in those activities most important to them
All while the child is having fun.

Every child develops at their own pace, but there are certain building blocks of movement that children should accomplish, known as gross motor milestones.

Some of these include:
● Rolling over and sitting up by themselves.
● Crawling and pulling to stand.
● Balancing while standing and moving into different positions.
● Walking, running, and jumping.

If a child is falling behind, or struggling to reach these benchmarks, a physical therapist can help get them back on track. Swipe through to explore the major gross motor milestones of the first 12 months, learn simple ways to encourage development through play, and discover signs that may indicate it's time to consult a pediatric physical therapist.

Pediatric physical therapy supports so much more than sports injuries. From helping young athletes improve strength, balance, and performance to supporting children with developmental delays or medical conditions in reaching important milestones, pediatric PT plays a vital role in helping children move, grow, and thrive. 🌟

At Enrich Wellness, we don’t play “place the baby.” 👶✨

We don’t just move children from one position to another — we help them build the foundational skills needed to confidently move independently. Through play-based therapy, hands-on facilitation techniques, and family education, we empower both children and parents with tools that carry over far beyond the clinic.

The greatest development of gross motor skills happens between birth and 5 years old. Every reach, roll, crawl, sit, and step matters. 💙

If you have concerns about your child’s development, questions about milestones, or simply want to learn ways to support your child’s growth at home, we’d love to help! Website link in Bio.
