Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic procedure that uses light, rhythmic touch to move excess fluid out of swollen tissues and back into the circulatory system. This process is vital for relieving inflammation, supporting the immune system, and managing chronic conditions.
How It Works:
The lymphatic system acts as your body's waste management network. Unlike the circulatory system, it has no central pump (like the heart) to move fluid. It relies on muscle movement, breathing, and external pressure to transport lymph fluid through a series of filtration checkpoints called lymph nodes.When illness, injury, or surgery disrupts this network, fluid pooling occurs, leading to painful swelling known as lymphedema.
