๐ Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children between the ages of 1 and 14. These injuries are often preventable through being prepared for the water.
๐ The following tips are for children, parents, and adults alike.
- Always swim with a buddy (it is more fun this way anyway)
- Know your limits and do not go further than your ability
- Take swim lessons and become a proficient swimmer
- Learn CPR and first aid, you never know when you may need it
- Wear a life jacket in open water
Additionally, learning the signs of drowning could be the difference between life and death. Often, you may not notice someone drowning because they are quiet rather than loud. Still, not wildly panicking.
