Panther Nation,
It’s finally here! Friday Night Lights are back, and tonight we get to kick off our home football season at Memorial Stadium! There is just something special about the National Anthem, the opening prayer, the Mighty Panther Band, the Prancers, the cheerleaders, the excitement in the stands, and seeing our community come together to support our Panthers!
On opening night, Memorial is always packed with Panther pride. This evening will be no exception, as we’ll have our Elementary Choir performing, elementary cheerleaders joining our LHS Cheer Team, and many other groups from across our schools and community helping make this a night to remember.
It will be crowded. It will be hot. There will be a lot of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family members and friends trying to get that perfect picture of their favorite Panther!
So tonight, I’m asking all of us to practice a little extra kindness, patience and courtesy.
If you’re taking pictures, please be respectful of those around you. Do your best not to block the exit aisles, and please don’t stand on the railings. We want everyone to be able to see, enjoy the game and most importantly, get home safely.
If you have questions about seating, our ushers will be happy to help you determine which sections are reserved for season ticket holders and which seats are available for general admission.
Every year, someone says, “There are no seats left!” I have a feeling we may hear that a few times tonight!
But here’s the thing: we’re all here for the same reason. We’re here to support our kids.
So, Panther Nation, let’s be courteous, let’s be respectful, and let’s be patient with one another. Our coaches, athletes, teachers, students, families, and volunteers are all working together to make tonight special.
When it’s all said and done, that’s what Friday Night Lights are really all about—creating memories for our kids that they’ll carry with them for a lifetime.
Let’s pack the stands, cheer loud, have some fun and show our Panthers what it means to have a community behind them!
Dusty
