So, I had planned on scheduling our Foraging #2 trip in 2 weeks with a lovely fermented elderflower recipe.
How worried is everyone about the supposed tick infestation this summer?

Wild violet syrup from my last foraging adventure.
There weren't many left since its so late in the season, but I got enough for one little jar.
It's such a beautiful floral addition to tea or warm oatmilk.

Every year I try something new in preparation for the following year.

This fall, I planted foraged wild plums. But, I'm also looking at propagating cutting from our local wild Missouri Goseberry.

This is the method I'm following:

Cuttings:
Take 6-inch hardwood cuttings from a dormant branch.
Cut just below a leaf node at the bottom and just above one at the top.
Remove the bark on the bottom third of the cutting, or make a small slit on the bottom.
Optionally, dip the end in rooting hormone.
Plant the cutting in a pot, keep well-drained, ensuring at least two nodes are buried.
Place in sunny cool location for winter.
Keep the cutting consistently moist, watering it more frequently in the first few weeks.

Im looking forward to seeing how this works out.
