Tip of the Day: Don't be overly concerned with comparing yourself to what others are doing or how others look. Instead focus on improving yourself. We typically find the worst in ourselves and the best in others which leads to a constant losing battle.

I gotta give a shout out to Malik Knox for absolutely killing his last check in! In just a little over a month he dropped 7.4lbs on the scaled, maintained his lean mass and lost 2.5" off his body! That brings his total in the few months we've been working together to nearly 17lbs down, over 7" lost, and actually up in lean mass! Malik is a firefighter with a very hectic and inconsistent schedule, but he is getting it done!!

Tip of the Day: Think ahead when you travel. Pack some easy snacks to take with you on the trip. Bringing a few things along and using an app like myfitnesspal on your phone can help you stay on track and save money from eating out every meal. Some of my favorites to bring are protein powder, protein bagels, protein bars, fruit, oats, cereal, microwavable rice, and nuts

Tip of the Day: There must be consistency to receive results. Working out or eating correctly a couple days per week will not get you the results you want. Being consistent with diet and training is vital to success. Establishing a routine that works for you will get you on the track towards becoming consistent.

Tip of the day: There are no specific foods that will magically cause weight/fat loss or weight/muscle gain. To lose weight a caloric deficit is required. To gain weight a caloric surplus is required. The Macro nutrient make up of the diet will have an effect on what is lost or gained(fat vs. muscle).

Tip of the Day: Find what works best for you. What worked for someone in a magazine is most likely not going to work the same for you. The “best plan” is the one that you can stick to and fits your life. If it is not something that you can realistically continue long term without ruling your life, it is not worth starting in the first place. Find a balance and you will be much happier and have greater success!

Tip of the Day: Setting goals is essential to success in pretty much anything, including fitness. A great way to set goals is to set S.M.A.R.T. goals and set smaller goals along the way to a larger end goal. A goal should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relavant, and have a time frame. For instance someone just starting out in fitness may wish to run a 10k. They may start by setting a goal of being able to run 2 miles straight within a month's time.

If you need help developing your goals in fitness, whether just starting out or hoping to take things to the next level, shoot me a message today to get started

Tip of the Day: It is typical to lose fat opposite of where you put it on first. For instance, if a person typically gains fat first in their midsection the midsection will likely be the last place to lean out.
