BREAKING: The House of Representatives has passed the Continuing Resolution 370-48 with the h**p extension intact and sent the bill to the President's desk.

Over the past several weeks, thousands of h**p advocates, farmers, businesses, consumers, veterans, and supporters took action to ensure lawmakers understood what was at stake. Because of those efforts, Congress has now approved a one-month extension of the impending federal h**p restrictions, providing valuable time to continue working toward a long-term solution.

Thank you to everyone who sent emails, made calls, signed letters, attended meetings, and shared our message.

This extension is not the finish line. It is an opportunity. We intend to use every day between now and December to advance a regulatory framework that protects consumers, prevents youth access to intoxicating products, and supports a thriving h**p industry.

Big WIN!
The Budd amendment was voted on yesterday, August 7, and it failed. The amendment would have stripped the temporary h**p extension from the continuing resolution.
The key result: the Senate rejected Budd’s effort to remove the h**p delay, so the h**p extension stayed in the Senate funding bill. The Senate ultimately passed the CR 90–6, and the bill extends government funding through December 11. �

So the sequence is now:
Budd amendment: ❌ Failed
H**p extension: ✅ Stayed in the CR
Senate CR: ✅ Passed 90–6
New effective date for the broader h**p restrictions: December 11
Next major hurdle: the House still has to deal with the funding bill.

🚨 The Senate could vote at any moment. There has never been a more important time to speak up.

Senator Ted Budd has offered an amendment that would remove the h**p extension from the Continuing Resolution and put the industry back on track for a sweeping federal h**p ban on November 12.

Supporters of the amendment argue that consumers would still have access to non-intoxicating CBD products. Our new CBD Fact Sheet shows why that simply isn't true. It explains how the proposed 0.4 mg THC per container standard would eliminate many of today's most widely used h**p-derived CBD products and summarizes the research, economic data, and policy implications.

Yesterday, we joined102 other organizations representing retailers, convenience stores, restaurants, beverage companies, veterans, patient advocates, agricultural stakeholders, and h**p businesses also sent a letter to Senate leadership urging lawmakers to preserve the h**p extension while Congress completes work on a responsible long-term solution.
