Positively Pediatrics is growing, and we’re looking for the right person to join our team!

We are looking for a Medical Assistant who is:

📚 Eager to learn and grow with our practice
⭐ Experienced in a pediatric or medical office setting is preferred, but the right personality and fit are incredibly important to us!

What you’ll be doing:
Rooming patients and obtaining vitals
Preparing charts and reviewing patient information
Performing vision and hearing screenings
Performing finger-stick testing for lead and hemoglobin
Administering immunizations
Assisting providers with patient care
Helping with clinical triage and patient calls
Maintaining clean, organized, and properly stocked exam rooms
Maintaining medical equipment and supplies
Following appropriate CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection-control standards
Assisting with patient paperwork and other clinical needs

⏰ PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME
We are flexible and would love to find the right person for our practice. No weekend hours.

💰 Medical Assistant: $18–$20/hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

And one more thing…

Are you an RN with pediatric experience? 👩‍⚕️

We would absolutely consider the right RN for this position, and salary would be negotiable based on experience and fit.

Does anybody remember our “Make us a baby” promotion in February where people could win a chance at a date night if they left a review? There was a grand prize of a home visit by yours truly for the first newborn visit as well as a gift basket if the winner brought us a newborn before the end of the year.

Well, it finally happened!

Congratulations to the Parzuchowski family and their newborn Claire. 🥰 I had the honor of visiting them at their house and doing their first visit this morning. I felt like an “old timey doctor” of back in the day. (If only I had a big black bag).

Obviously Claire was thrilled to see me in her house as you can tell by her expression. 😬

Pos Peds elevator: Haunted or just broken? 👻

We were informed that the elevator in our building is not working this morning. No timeline on when it is going to be fixed. Just wanted our families to know that it is going to be a stairs day at least for a little bit. If you need help getting up to our office, please let us know when you get here and we can try to come down and help you.

Happy Friday everyone! It looks like there is a garage sale event going on in our parking lot today. Apologies to our patients as parking may be tight.

Dr. Wax‘s property manager assured us that there will be plenty of parking still available for our patients as we are still open today.

While you are here, feel free to stop by the Garage Sale event. Who knows? Come in with pink eye and leave with a little treasure. (just kidding… If you have pink eye, you probably shouldn’t be mingling with the public. 😬😉)

SPORTS PHYSICALS!!!!⚽🏀🏉⚾🏌

We were hoping for a little better turn out for our Saturday Sports Physicals. We were trying to take some of the pressure off of the early August panic when kids need their PE forms usually yesterday.

We only have a couple of kids signed up so far. We understand that end of school year is a busy time so this shouldn't be a complete shocker.

If we do not get a little better turn out by Wednesday, we will cancel the event and reschedule the individuals at a mutually convenient time. My staff has volunteered their time on a Saturday, but I am sure they wouldn't mind some more time at home with their families. 🌞

🌿 Tick season is here in Michigan! 🌿

We are getting inundated with calls and visits about tick bites as they are out if full force. Here are a couple of helpful links and some information from the health dept that can help you decide whether a phone call or visit is needed.

As families spend more time outdoors, remember to protect your kids from tick bites and Lyme disease:

✔️ Use insect repellent with DEET or picaridin
✔️ Wear light-colored clothing and long sleeves when possible
✔️ Check kids carefully after outdoor play — especially scalp, behind ears, armpits, waistline, and behind knees
✔️ Shower after coming indoors
✔️ Remove ticks promptly with fine-tipped tweezers

Watch for symptoms after a tick bite, including fever, fatigue, rash, headaches, or joint pain.

Prevention and early detection are key to staying healthy this summer! ☀️
