✨ ONE YEAR ✨
Today marks ONE FULL YEAR since I decided to stop drinking for a year. 🥂➡️🚫
I didn’t make a big announcement about it. I didn’t need the attention or the applause. I told only a few people close to me, because this was something I wanted to do for myself.
I’ve always been someone who sets goals and, when I put my mind to something, I accomplish it. But this one was different. I realized I wasn’t respecting alcohol the way I should anymore. I was doing it too often, making decisions I wasn’t proud of, and honestly, I just wanted to see what would happen if I took a step back and challenged myself.
I always knew I didn’t need alcohol to have fun… but this year validated that in a way I never expected. I still went out. I still laughed until my stomach hurt. I still danced, made memories, went on trips, celebrated, and somehow managed to have an amazing time in it all.
And honestly? I never felt like I was missing out.
This year taught me a lot about discipline, confidence, self-control, and most importantly, keeping promises to myself.
So today, I’m not celebrating a year without alcohol as much as I’m celebrating a year of choosing myself.
To the few people who knew what I was doing and supported me, encouraged me, respected my decision, or simply never made me feel weird about it — thank you. It meant more than you probably realize. ❤️
I’m incredibly proud of myself. Not because I had to do this… but because I wanted to, I committed to it, and I finished what I started.
365 days.
One challenge.
One promise to myself.
COMPLETED. 🥂✨
