☀️ Summer is here... and so are ticks!
Not all ticks carry Lyme disease. In fact, only deer ticks can transmit Lyme disease, and not every deer tick is infected. However, here in the Little Falls area, Lyme disease is more common than in many other parts of the state, so it's important to take tick bites seriously.
If you remove a deer tick that has likely been attached for about 36 hours or longer, a one-time preventive dose of antibiotics may help reduce your risk of developing Lyme disease.
Watch for symptoms after a tick bite, including: 🎯 The classic "bullseye" rash 🤒 Fever or chills 😴 Fatigue 🦴 Joint or muscle aches
The good news? Lyme disease is very treatable, especially when caught early.
