This is a question I get asked often!

The short answer is: Yes, most people can exercise on the same day they receive a massage.

However, the type of massage and the intensity of your workout matter.

✅ Light to moderate activities such as walking, stretching, mobility exercises, or an easy workout are usually well tolerated after a massage.

⚠️ If you’ve received a deep tissue massage or intensive work on areas with significant muscle tension, you may feel some soreness afterward. In those cases, it may be beneficial to take it easy or allow your body additional recovery time before participating in a strenuous workout.

Remember, massage therapy is designed to help reduce tension, improve mobility, and support recovery. Listening to your body is always the best guide.

A few tips after your massage:
💧 Stay hydrated
🚶🏽‍♀️ Take a short walk

This is one of the most common questions I hear!

While many people feel relaxed and refreshed after a massage, some may experience mild soreness for a day or two afterward, especially if tight or overworked muscles were addressed.

Massage therapy affects muscles and soft tissues in a way that can feel similar to how your body responds after physical activity. As tension is released and restricted areas are worked, temporary soreness can sometimes occur.

A few reasons you may feel sore:

✔️ It’s been a long time since your last massage

✔️ You requested deeper pressure than your body was accustomed to

✔️ Areas with significant tension or muscle tightness were addressed

✔️ Your body is adjusting to increased movement and improved tissue mobility

What can help afterward?

💧 Drink plenty of water

It took me years to finally jump on the bandwagon, but now I can’t imagine not having it.

Before online booking, I spent time every day texting clients appointment reminders and following up on confirmations. Now the system does it all automatically!

After being gone all week in Nashville for advanced training, my grandbabies finally got their Nana back. They’re used to coming over at least once or twice a week, so I think they felt like I had been gone for a month! 😂

I can’t wait to see my clients again. Thank you for your patience while I was away investing in continuing education and bringing new techniques back to Little Rock. See you all in the morning! 😊

There’s truly no place like home. 🏡💜 🏡 Home Sweet Home! 🦋💜

After 5 days of intense advanced massage training, I am finally HOME!
I enjoyed every minute of this experience, but whew 😅 those were some LONG days! We trained for 10 hours each day, and today ended with a hands-on technique exam covering everything we learned throughout the week.

I’m excited to bring these new skills back to A Better U Massage, including advanced TMJ techniques, lymphatic work, and intraoral therapy to better serve my clients.

A huge THANK YOU to my family, friends, and clients who called, texted, checked on me, and helped keep me awake on my drive home after class. Your love and encouragement meant more than you know. ❤️

Now I’m looking forward to seeing my grandbabies, who have been wondering where Nana has been all week, and of course my sweet Prince 🐾 who has definitely been missing his mommy! Thank goodness for FaceTime, we got to see each other every day. 😊
