☀️ It’s hot outside, and sometimes we run out of ideas for keeping our kids entertained at home!

Simple items you already have can create fun games that encourage fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, communication, color recognition, and more.

Our favorites are the Indoor or Outdoor Color Hunt and the Tape Track! All the track takes is a roll of painter’s tape, and it’s sure to keep kids busy for a while. If race tracks aren’t their thing, use the tape to create an obstacle course instead!

💜 Wisdom Wednesday 💜

Hearing that your child has been diagnosed with Level 1, 2, or 3 autism can feel overwhelming, especially when you are unsure what that number means for their future.

But that number does not define who your child is or what they are capable of becoming. It simply gives professionals a starting point for understanding the amount of support they may need right now. And as children grow, learn, and receive the right support, those needs may change.

Every child’s journey is different. The goal is never to chase a different number. The goal is to understand the child in front of us and help them feel safe, supported, and celebrated along the way. 💚

Because a diagnosis can help guide the support, but it could never measure the child. ❤️

🍝 Fun Friday is serving up something extra saucy!

When it’s too hot to play outside, bring the fun indoors with a Pasta Sensory Bin! Activities like this can support hand-eye coordination, fine-motor skills, counting, following directions, pretend play and sensory exploration.

We used red pom-poms, dry pasta, paper felt cut outs, but you don’t have to use any of these materials! Make an afternoon of it by going on a scavenger hunt around your home or outside in nature to find child-safe items that look similar to the ingredients on each recipe card. Then let your little chef scoop, count and create! 💜💚❤️

Save the printable, cut out the recipe cards and see what your little chef cooks up!

Please choose materials that are appropriate for your child and always supervise sensory play closely, especially when small pieces are involved.
