What I think about when working out:
From 1982-2016 I offered fitness classes/training. My self choreographed classes highlighted my favorite contemporary music, and always felt like a party to me. I loved sharing my joy of fitness. After 2 hip replacements, 2 shoulder repairs, and dealing with some major foot issues through the last 10 years - I am finally beginning to feel strong again. My past programs included warm ups, cardio, resistance training, (bands, balls, weights) strengthening exercises (now called Pilates) stretching (many yoga moves). Some even introduced body scanning, visualization, deep breathing, tightening and releasing muscles to relax at the end of the workout. I realize why my gait and strength went downhill after the surgeries, my body was accustomed to a well developed regimen- along with my joy of dancing whenever I could! I am continually working toward improving my fitness now, and appreciate that my body is allowing me to do so. I am also realizing that my program was pretty wonderful not only for its time, but has enabled me to physically work on my health currently. Fitness… you get back what you put into it even DECADES later 👍💪🏻
