Heather Thatcher has been a valued part of the Schroer Medical team for the past four years. She is truly an asset to our clinic, and her patients absolutely adore her. Heather treats every patient like family and consistently provides compassionate, hometown care tailored to each individual’s needs.

Schroer Medical is excited to announce the addition of Shelby Gillasby-Ortiz, APRN, Family Nurse Practitioner, to our team beginning June 2026.

Shelby is originally from Wickes, Arkansas, and currently resides in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. She attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology. She later obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Hope in 2016. Shelby continued her education and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Family Practice from UAMS in 2025.

Shelby brings eight years of diverse nursing experience, including hospital-based care in Med/Surg and ICU/ER settings, as well as experience in hospice, school nursing, and hormone replacement therapy.

Shelby and her husband, Kolten, have four daughters—Hallie, Lyndyn, Kora, and Brynlee—who attend Nashville Schools. Outside of work, Shelby enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, attending concerts, and singing in church.

We are excited for our patients to meet Shelby and look forward to expanding our walk-in and same-day appointment availability to better serve our community.

Heather and Cassie are eager to welcome Shelby and assist in her transition as she becomes part of the Schroer Medical family.
