As the light changes and autumn settles in, our bodies feel the shift too. For those of us with autoimmune or histamine sensitivities, inflammation, allergies, or a sensitive nervous system, seasonal changes can sometimes bring fatigue, achiness, restless sleep, or simply a feeling of being a little “off.”
Ayurveda sees fall as a time of increasing Vata—cool, dry, light, and changeable. We can meet that shift with warmth, nourishment, steadiness, and touch.
This is one reason I love Abhyanga, warm oil massage, in the fall. The warmth and steady touch can help ease muscle tension and stiffness, support circulation and mobility, nourish dry skin, and encourage the body’s relaxation response—making it easier to slow down, settle, and rest.
🍁 Sometimes caring for a sensitive body means giving it more of what the season is taking away: warmth, steadiness and nourishment.
