Sometimes, grounding starts with simply coming back to your body.

In this trauma-informed yoga practice, we’re using a simple grounding pose to create a sense of safety, connection, and presence—without forcing the body to do anything it isn’t ready for.

Take a breath. Notice your feet. Feel the support beneath you. Give yourself permission to slow down.

Healing doesn’t always have to look like doing more. Sometimes, it looks like pausing long enough to feel where you are. 🤍

Save this for a moment when you need to reconnect with yourself.

I used to say yes to everyone.
Full caseload, always available, answering messages at 9pm because I felt guilty if I didn’t.

I also used to treat the mind on its own. Someone comes in anxious, we work on the anxiety. But I stopped ignoring the fact that their body has been holding onto something this whole time too. You can’t separate the two. I don’t know why I ever tried to.

This is basically why I embraced the Brainbow Blueprint. Not because “whole person care” sounded good on a website, but because it’s the only way any of this actually works.

Not everyone who needs healing feels safe in a traditional yoga class.

For someone carrying trauma in their body — being touched without warning, being told to relax, being pushed into a posture that feels vulnerable — can activate the very response we’re trying to calm.

Trauma-informed yoga was designed with that in mind.

Every movement is an invitation. Every boundary is honored. Every body is met exactly where it is.

This is Part 1 of a conversation I’ve been wanting to have for a long time. Filmed in my garden — because healing doesn’t only happen indoors. 🌿

Part 2 drops soon. Follow so you don’t miss it.

What does whole-person care actually mean?

I get asked this all the time — and I love the question, because most people have never been offered it.

Whole-person care means we don’t separate your mind from your body. We don’t treat your anxiety like it exists in a vacuum, disconnected from what you’re eating, how you’re sleeping, whether you’re moving, or what gives your life meaning.

Because the research is clear: all of those things affect your mental health. Not as side notes. As central variables.

At AOS Healing Center, we use the BrainBow Blueprint — a lifestyle medicine framework that addresses seven dimensions of your health: nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, relationships, spirituality, and environment.

Part 2 is coming next — and it’s less about the philosophy and more about the actual clinical process. 🌿

Save this series if you’ve ever felt like your care was missing something.

I used to wonder why some of my clients would do everything right — show up every week, do the work, make real progress — and still struggle.

Then I started learning about lifestyle medicine. and everything changed.

Talk therapy is powerful. I believe in it deeply, and the mind cannot fully heal in isolation from the body.

What you eat affects your mood. how you sleep affects your emotional regulation. Whether you move affects your nervous system. Whether you feel connected affects your resilience.

Talk therapy was never meant to carry all of that alone.

Whole-person healing is what we practice at AOS Healing Center. because you were never just a mind. 🌿

When symptoms keep returning, it may be a sign that the deeper causes have not yet been addressed. Many mental health challenges can be temporarily managed, but lasting healing often requires looking beyond surface symptoms.

Whole-person care considers emotional, psychological, biological, and lifestyle factors to help restore long-term balance and resilience.

Have you ever noticed certain symptoms or emotional patterns repeating again and again?

Healing becomes more effective when care focuses on the root causes and the whole person.

With the right guidance and supportive care, it is possible to work toward lasting mental clarity and emotional balance.

The experience of managing PTSD or complex trauma can make you feel immobilized, as your body and mind are continuing to react to the dangers that no longer exist.

Complex trauma is another thing; it usually accumulates with repetition of events, particularly during childhood, such as constant abuse or neglect.

Those may impact your trust in other people, managing your emotions, and even your self-perception.

We consider healing as reconnecting with one's own wisdom of the body, and not only controlling the symptoms.

We adopt an integrative approach that combines various tools in facilitating actual recovery.
