It took me years — and Human Design — to understand why I could walk into a room full of people, give every single person there my full light, my energy, my presence...
..and then come home and feel like I'd been hollowed out.
I'm a Projector. And Projectors aren't built to keep going like the Generators around us.
We don't have consistent, defined energy. We absorb, amplify, and guide — and then we need REST.
Not a quick nap. Not scrolling your phone on the couch.
Real, intentional recharge.
Here's what that looks like for me after a big event, a gathering, a full day of holding space:
I go somewhere quiet — ideally outside, alone
I let my body decompress for at least 30 minutes before I talk to anyone
I do not make any decisions that night
I journal or pray to process what I absorbed
I sleep before I respond to messages
This is not laziness. This is how I do my best work.
If you're a Projector and you've been pushing through the exhaustion trying to keep up — this is your permission to stop.
You are not built to run like a Generator. You are built to lead like a Projector.
There is a difference. And it matters.
