CommonSpirit – Saint Joseph Hospital – London recently celebrated 100 robotic bronchoscopy procedures, which allows for more precise, minimally invasive lung biopsies. The technology helps pulmonologists reach small, difficult-to-access nodules in the lung with improved accuracy and less risk compared to traditional methods. It also allows patients to get more comprehensive answers, including diagnosis and staging within a single visit, which is especially important in the early detection of lung cancer and treatment.

The Breeders' Cup World Championships will return to Lexington this October, and today Mayor Linda Gorton, joined by leaders and organizers of the Breeders' Cup, announced a city-wide, week-long celebration for our city, visitors and horse-racing fans–the Breeders' Cup Festival, kicking off October 25 and culminating on October 31, the last day of the championship races.

What an incredible night! This past Saturday, we celebrated 100 years of serving the London community at our Roaring Centennial Gala. With a backdrop of ‘20s-themed decor and wonderful music by The band Encore Of Lexington it was an evening to remember—but the real highlight was the incredible support for our oncology services.

Because of your generosity, we are taking a significant step forward in expanding cancer care access and resources for those we serve in the London and Laurel County area. Apart from all the incredible contributions toward this need, our Mission Moment alone has raised an additional $13,050 to benefit cancer services, improving care, access and resources for our patients.

Located on the hospital’s fourth floor, the restorative care unit ensures continuity of care, collaborative treatment plans and improved post-acute outcomes for patients.

It features:
• 10 private-style beds
• Dedicated care team and assigned case manager
• On-site rehabilitation gym, activities room, and telehealth suite
• Full-service clinical care including medication management, IV therapy, and nutritional support
