💥EMS Week Spotlight💥

Next is flight paramedic Brandi Jett. Brandi came to PHI in April of 2024 and came with so much knowledge and experience. Brandi started in EMS in 2015 at Knox County EMS. Brandi obtained her advanced EMT in 2017 and continued working at Knox County. Brandi decided to further her education and obtained her paramedic degree at Eastern Kentucky University paramedicine program. Brandi graduated and obtained her paramedic license in 2020 and worked as a paramedic at Barren-Metcalfe EMS. Brandi has since worked in the ER at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a paramedic and worked at Med Center of Bowling Green EMS. Brandi’s experience and knowledge has been a vital asset to our company and brings so much to our bases at PHI in London.

We want to honor Brandi and the rest of our paramedics this EMS Week and every other day.

Today we want to spotlight our Kayla girl and the sunshine to our base. Kayla came to PHI in August of 2022 and is now a preceptor and holds her FP-C certification. Kayla started EMS in 2016 as an EMT at Ambulance Inc of Laurel County. Kayla obtained her paramedic degree from Eastern Kentucky University paramedicine program and began working as a paramedic in 2017. Prior to coming to PHI, Kayla got her paramedic experience locally at Ambulance Inc of Laurel County and then was a chemical response paramedic at The Depot in Richmond, KY.

Not only has Kayla served our community on the ground and in the air as a paramedic, but she is also apart of the London-Laurel rescue squad where she has been for 6 years. Kayla holds multiple certifications and even does some dive rescue response. We are so thankful and lucky to have Kayla apart of our team and we want to honor her and hard work this EMS week and every other week.

In honor of EMS Week, let’s meet our crew.

Today we want to spotlight Matt Burdine, NRP, FP-C. Matt comes from a plethora of experience, starting out as a dispatcher and then on to EMS. Matt started as a dispatcher at McCreary County in 2010 and was there until he got his EMT license and started as an EMT in 2014. Thereafter, Matt obtained his AEMT in 2017 and finished his paramedic in 2019 and has been practicing since. Matt has served the communities of Whitley County, McCreary County, and Wayne County while working on the ground and has been flying at PHI in London since 2022. Matt brings so much positivity, knowledge, and a friendly face to our base. Matt heads up safety at PHI1 and takes care of all the educational requirements here at PHI1 as well. Not only does Matt take care of the base on the clinical side, he’s also our go to when a car is messed up or anything needs fixed. We sure are thankful to have Matt on our team.

🚑💙 EMS Week 2026 💙🚁

This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible EMS professionals we are honored to serve alongside every day.

We are grateful for the trust, partnerships, and shared mission of providing the highest level of care to patients in their time of greatest need. It is an honor to stand beside the EMS agencies we serve.

Happy EMS Week to the ones who make our jobs so much easier and who selflessly serve their communities every day without a single thought and not the first bit of hesitation.

One year has passed since our community experienced one of the biggest devastations we have seen. Today marks one year.

One year of rebuilding
One year of watching a community so small, come together to help pick up all the pieces that were scattered everywhere.
One year of sadness, remembrance, and perseverance.
One year of teamwork

Time has seemed to pass so quickly and it feels like the tornado wreaked havoc on our community just yesterday, but we have also watched what was once torn apart, come back together.

So many lives were lost and affected by this awful tragedy and that will never be forgotten.
Today, and every day, we want to honor and remember the ones who lost their lives, their homes, and their families.

Today we watched the most beautiful sunrise and remembered that there are better days and to never take a single sunrise for granted🖤💛

Thoughts and prayers for everyone who affected by this horrible tragedy.

🚁✨ May the 4th be with you! ✨🚁

Even in a galaxy not so far away, our crews are always ready to answer the call. Whether it’s navigating the skies at lightspeed (or close to it 😉) or bringing critical care to those who need it most, our mission never changes.

Today, we’re celebrating with a little extra force behind us—because every patient we serve is the hero of their own story.

Stay safe out there, and remember… the Force is strong with this crew. 💫
